Home to several leading universities, industry-leading companies, numerous recreational opportunities, and located along the Mississippi River, La Crosse is a thriving, historic, attractive, and energetic community of more than 50,000 people.
In 2022, the City started a broad and ambitious process to develop a new Comprehensive Plan to guide its evolution and growth.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, CDG led development of the plan's pedestrian and bicycle mobility component.
CDG's recommendations focused on developing a safe, connected, and comfortable system that responded to citizen guidance, considered previous planning and investments, and assessed potential for increasing use of sustainable modes based on an accurate evaluation of existing conditions in the community.
The Comprehensive Plan was adopted in October of 2023 and is in process for implementation.
