Rochester's Destination Medical Center (DMC) is one of the most significant development initiatives to occur in the Midwest in many years. The DMC's City Loop bicycle trail is a key component for developing transportation options for workers and visitors, attracting a skilled workforce to the city, and building quality of life for all.

Known as “The Most Livable Place” for its renowned natural beauty, world class fishing, skiing, abundant recreational opportunities, and gateway to Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman is also a regional commercial center for much of the south central region of Montana.
CDG developed the city’s new Urban Design Manual to increase opportunities for human-scaled and context-appropriate development, innovative urban design, improved multimodal connectivity, and orderly and sustainable development while responding to the city’s unique physical and natural character.
CDG designed and facilitated community engagement activities for the City of Minneapolis project to redesign Hennepin Avenue from Lake Street West to 36th Street West. The purpose of the engagement events was to inform the public about the project scope and schedule, seek ideas on the future of the corridor, and let the public know how to stay engaged with the project.
St. Joseph is a small town of about 6,500 residents located just west of St. Cloud, Minnesota. Home to thriving small businesses and local industries, a diverse community and renowned educational institutions like the College of St. Benedict, the city is poised to grow and thrive in the coming decades.
Highway 59 is a primary route through the commercial district of Worthington, Minnesota. The corridor is slated for reconstruction, and MnDOT and the city are working to to develop a long-term vision for its future.
Fitchburg is an innovative and prosperous community of about 25,000 people just south of Madison, Wisconsin. The city is home to three major regional trails (the Military Ridge State Trail, the Capital City Trail, and the Badger State Trail) as well as several local trails. Numerous shared-use paths, as well as the area’s first Bike Roundabout Commuter Station and a number of high-quality mountain bike trails round out the picture of a city with numerous assets already in place and a clear path to the next level of bike/walk orientation and success.
Named 2017’s “Best Midwestern Small Town” by USA Today, Grand Marais is known for its vibrant arts scene, natural scenery, and unique history. Every year, thousands of visitors flock to the city’s downtown commercial district and venture into the nearby Boundary Waters Canoeing Area or Voyageurs National Park, some of the most pristine wilderness remaining in the United States.
The City of Grand Forks in coordination with the Grand Forks - East Grand Forks Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) recently updated their long-range Land Use Plan. The plan is a guiding document for how the City will manage growth and development over the next 30 years.
Community visioning and engagement was a key part of the plan update. To better reflect community needs and desires for the future of Grand Forks, CDG used interactive in-person activities and innovative online tools to expand engagement and participation in the process.
CDG worked with staff and residents of Brooklyn Park to develop the city's first Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan.
Deeply informed by a community health and Active Living / Active Transportation framework, the plan seeks to increase opportunities for walking and biking for residents of all ages and abilities by making walking and biking in the city safer, more inviting, more useful and more convenient.
Over a condensed timeline of six months, we completed planning, design, and engagement for the project.
The Kenilworth Corridor Landscape Design project incorporates the proposed Southwest Light Rail Transit (SWLRT) project alongside the existing regional walking and biking trail (which serves nearly 600,000 people annually). The corridor features separate trails for people who walk and bike, and provides connections to several major trails in the wider metro area.
